Its two days until first advent and the festive spirit have began to sneak up on me, making this gingerbread granola the perfect way to start-it all up without going all crazy. Iv’e been waiting for advent a couple of weeks now, to put up my christmas-stars in the window and my advent candles on the table, to the christmas fair this sunday and its traditional glögg-tasting and to kick-off the cosiest month in the year.
.
This granola made my whole house smell like christmas, but the spices stills gives the granola just a subtile taste of gingerbread so if you like the flavor to knock your socks off, just put in double the amount of spices.
Ingredients
1.5 cup rolled oats
1 cup mixed seeds
3 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp ginger powder
1 tbsp cinnamon
0,5 tbsp ground cardamom
0,5 tbsp clove
1 egg white
3 tbsp honey
1 ripe banana
How to make it;
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Mix the banana into a puree and mix it with the egg white and the honey. Then add in the oats, seeds and the spices mixing it well.
Bake for about 20 min, making sure to check it carefully and move it around, so it doesn’t burn. Let it cool down and eat!
Oh goodness this looks amazing! But I have a feeling that I’d demolish it in one sitting if I made it. Those berries are so beautiful!

Haha, I have to admit it doesn’t last long here either 😉

Mmmm I love these ingredients SO much! I’ve never tried putting egg white in my granola and I’m so curious to see how that changes the texture!

It eliminates the need for oil, so its good for those who like it to be a bit more healthy and it also gives a nice “crunch” to it 🙂
