GIN&TONIC POPSICLES

Gin&Tonic happens to be one of my favorite drinks together with Kir Royale, as different as they can possible be. I love how refreshing a G&T is on a warm summers day or in a hotel-bar after traveling. And honestly, it’s kind of a safe bet as even a pretty crappy bartender knows have to make it.

One of my craziest memories including G&T was that time in the bar of a “family-friendly hotel” in Disneyland Paris. The bartender treated us to some Gin and Tonics containing 12 cl gin and the tiniest dash of tonic. I was a bit dehydrated after being outside on Disneyland for 10 hours in 35 degrees and had minimal food that day. So that killer to a drink ended my night at 9, with me having some serious trouble getting into bed. Flying home the next day with the following hangover was not great, to say the least.

Gin and Tonic popsicles

This is one of my favorite ways to enjoy a Gin&Tonic – as popsicles! They are just as ice-cool as I want my G&T to be and it’s just a fun way of having a drink, especially in the summer. And the recipe is super simple, it just needs a bit of time in the freezer.

You will need;
6 cl gin
50 cl tonic
Juice of one lime
Lime slices

Gin and Tonic popsicles

Do like this;
In a big bowl – mix the gin, tonic and lime juice and then taste it so its enough lime. Pour it in your popsicle moulds, add in a slice of lime and put away in the freezer. These take a bit of time in the freezer because of the alcohol so they need to be in the freezer for at least 8 hours before serving. Enjoy and drink (eat?) responsible!

    Have you ever try this? “Jamu”, traditional gin and tonic from Java, Indonesia.

    1. Oh I have never tried anything like that? Is it similar to “the traditional one”?

        Exactly, the traditional ones, made from herbs, such as papaya leaf, tamarinds, ginger, etc.
